Who we are
Established in 1932, The Strollers is a community-centered nonprofit theater company dedicated to creating inclusive, accessible, and collaborative theatrical experiences in our local community.
We believe theater is at its best when it is shared—when people of all ages and backgrounds come together not only as audience members, but as creators, storytellers, and participants. Through live performance and community engagement, we aim to foster connection, creativity, and belonging.
Our productions and programs are built on collaboration. From performers and directors to volunteers and supporters behind the scenes, The Strollers thrives on the collective energy of people who care about bringing live theater to life. We welcome both seasoned artists and those discovering theater for the first time, creating space for learning, growth, and shared creative expression.
As we grow, we remain grounded in a simple belief: that accessible, community-driven theater strengthens the cultural and social fabric of the place we call home. We are committed to building a sustainable organization that not only produces meaningful work on stage, but also nurtures relationships off stage—between neighbors, friends, and new collaborators alike.
The Strollers are grateful to be supported by The Maplewood Division of Arts and Culture.

Interested in working together? We welcome anyone with an interest in the arts and a willingness to work toward a common goal, whether onstage or behind the scenes. Our diverse membership includes people of all ages and from all walks of life. Whether you have always been a theater person or just enjoy the fun of working on a creative project, The Maplewood Strollers welcomes you!
Our quarterly meetings offer the opportunity to present a workshop, providing first-time playwrights and directors a forum for showcasing and experimenting with new works and ideas. Workshops also allow actors to perform in a somewhat more casual and less time-consuming venue than a full play may demand. If you have an idea for a workshop, please contact us for more information! We can’t wait to hear from you!
